Two sure ways to tell Spring is here in my neighborhood:
1. See that alligator sunning itself on the Dunes West golf course. He, or she, is not just relaxing. They are looking for a mate. Spring is alligator mating season. Here they have been known to run across the road from pond to pond to find their "friend" and or they make a strange guttural sign calling each other.
2. My Azaleas and Lady Banks roses are in full bloom My garden is my happy place. Azaleas blooming means the Master's golf tournament is soon, but that's another column altogether.
Bye, gotta go fertilize the up-and-coming plants.
