A Letter to Our Clients, Friends, and Followers

Real Estate is our livelihood, our vocation, our profession but most of all it’s a service we provide to the public and we love what we do. I, Franne, have been a REALTOR® for over 20 years and I’m the 2018 Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS®, REALTOR® of the year. I’ve seen Buyer’s markets, Seller’s, markets and miserable markets but I’ve never seen anything like this. In the crash, some real estate agents slept in their cars. If we don’t have a closing, we don’t make any money. If you have nothing for a rainy day and your income stops, you can lose everything. We are no different than anyone else. We take videos, we use social media to remind people we are working from home, we try everything creative we can think of and we stay in close touch with our clients. “Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” Theodore Roosevelt. This too shall pass, soon, we hope. Stay Safe!
Thank you and stay safe!

When in life you don’t succeed, try, try again.

Real estate isn’t any different than sports, or everyday life. One of our clients may love the location of house “A”, but house “B” has been updated. They make an offer on house “A” based on its condition and what they think it will cost to bring it up to 2020 standards. The seller says no, sorry, I can’t sell for that price. We move on to house “B”. They buy it and live happily ever after. Yes, sometimes the team writes multiple offers, but what matters is our client.
When my family moved to Charleston in 1996, I came to visit my late husband already working here on a weekend and went back to Atlanta knowing what house I loved. My husband knew that house would make the transition easier for me. I was already a REALTOR® in Atlanta and did not want to leave my established business behind. It took him and our Charleston REALTOR® three contracts before they had a “deal” on the house I still live in. It was perfect then and it’s perfect now.
Our job is to find our clients the house that works best for them. We’ll keep trying until you, our clients are happy.
Need help, have questions? Contact one of us. Yes, we make house calls.

The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg

Do you remember the story about the goose that laid the golden egg? The owners of the goose were so sure that it’s insides must be full of gold that they killed the goose. Moral of the story, greed is a terrible thing.
This story can easily carry over into the today world of real estate. The Charleston spring selling market is off with a bang. Inventory is down 4.5 percent and there are approximately 320 homes on the market compared with 423 at this time last year. If you are considering selling your home now is the time to get on the market. Moral of this story? The goose is laying the golden egg now. Get on the market at the correct price and your home will sell.

Looking Back on 2019

As we look back on 2019, we are filled with joy and gratitude. Because of you, our customers and clients, we have had a very successful year. We do not take our growth for granted. It’s the result of hard work and great loyalty. We thank you all.
In 2019, we spread our wings. With months of work from our consultants, weeks of writing and meeting after meeting, we created our own website. It’s a reflection of us. It showcases who we are, what we do and why we are unique. You can find it at <a href=\”https:\/\/charlestonfinehomes.com\/\”>CharlestonFineHomes.com<\/a>
Each of our clients is unique and every house we show is also unique. Our job is like a jigsaw puzzle. You can’t make a square peg fit into a round hole. We can’t make a client love a house they don’t. It’s our job, with the input from our clients, to find the home that meets all their wants and needs. We love what we do, and we hope it shows.
We hope your New Year is filled with opportunity, love and laughter. If you need the help of a Realtor® in 2020, we hope you will contact us.

December 2019

We’ve travelled thousands of miles, covering 2 counties and 9 cities/towns. We have helped buy and sell land, townhouses, condos, interval ownerships and single-family homes of all shapes and sizes.  Our clients have been first time home buyers, retirees, relocation referrals and military transfers (Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy).  Our clients ranged from Millennials to Baby Boomers: single, recently married, recently divorced, and recently widowed.  We confidently saddled up next to them in the front seat of that complex, emotional roller coaster ride called real estate.  Some screamed the entire ride, while others laughed.  Some cried and some felt sick from the stress.  We grabbed their hands and offered support, experience, and the reassurance that we would be with them throughout every aspect of the transaction.  To all our present and past clients – thank you for choosing us as your trusted partner on this ride.  We look forward to hearing from all of you as we embark on more adventures in the new year to come.

Thanksgiving

My grandmother used to tell me a story about a little girl and boy that ate too many berries, fell asleep in the forest…like after eating turkey…and then couldn’t find their way home in the dark.  It wasn’t meant to scare me or get me to eat less.  She just wanted to entertain me as my eyes closed to take a nap.
Now that Thanksgiving is right around the corner…I feel that “I ate too much turkey syndrome” coming. I think I buy the largest turkey I can find because we have a guess the weight of the turkey contest and think big is better. Each year I say no more fat birds, but each year I feel like that berry eating little girl.  I am lost in my own home after eating too much and may never get out.

Welcome to October

October means many things to many people.  It’s Halloween.  As mothers how could we forget that?  Costumes and candy and children trading a Tootsie Roll for a Milky Way.  No, don’t eat that it’s not wrapped.
October has another meaning. It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Our lives have been touched by this terrible disease as have most of our fellow REALTORS®.  For quite a few years this has become a cause for our office.  Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sponsors the Making Strides Walk that this year will be on October 27th at North Charleston River Front Park
Our office also has a great golf tournament that is always on Veterans Day.  This year that will be November 11th  at Legend Oaks Country Club in Summerville.  There are still spots if you would like to play.  We are also raffling off a golf cart.  Want to enter?

All 3 of us are available almost 24/7, we do sleep some, but our goal is to be of service to you, our clients and friends.
For those of you new to us and our site, we take our real estate business very seriously.  I often say “We don’t color outside the lines.” which means our contracts guide our business and we observe the code of ethics. Questions or comments?  Homes@CharlestonFineHomes will get to all 3 of us.
Again, welcome and we look forward to hearing from you.
